Defensive Mentality

From an article interview I read recently:
If something's yours, you need to protect it. You don't want guys coming into your house and taking over, kicking off their shoes and putting their feet on your coffee table. Defense, in my opinion, is more important than offense. If you can get stops when you need to, eventually somebody is going to make a shot. I don't smile when I'm out there competing against you. It's not funny.

This is from Ben Wallace, who definitely isn't a bad defender.

For me, defense is all about attitude and especially confidence. Coming off two down years, I'm healthy again, and my confidence is much higher. That's helped to restore my love for shutting people down. I'm also anxious to play another season with Shaner, Q, Heijmen, et al.

Come on, doesn't playing just offense get boring?
