Has the Ultimate Blog World died or just passed out?

Posts have been a rarity (from myself as well, obviously) amongst the Ultimate community. Aside from running commentaries on tournaments, it seems that there may be only so much strategy and profound analysis to be done about ultimate. I had a sneaking suspicion that my posts would dry up pretty quickly as well when I started this blog.

It makes obvious sense that the elite players that reside at ultimatetalk wouldn't be sharing their teams' specific strategies and tips while the season is going on. Also, the offseason brings little material for predictions or tournament summaries (unless you like reading about winter league games). Maybe, like professional sports, the most entertaining and interesting stories and information come from those not directly playing. When was the last time you heard any honest, intriguing and in-depth analysis from a player or coach? Problem is, there really isn't anyone like that in the ultimate community who is in tune enough, but yet not playing, who provides consistent material.

At least we'll always have RSD. Rules questions that pop up there are like reality shows for me. I swear I won't watch, I end up looking anyways, and it always ends with me yelling at the screen.

Labor Day in Santa Cruz this weekend. SZ finally gets to visit the west coast late in the season. It's a great chance for us to overcome some mental hurdles against other elite teams. Hopefully, win or lose, we can gain some good experience and be able to apply it later on in Sarasota (specifically the first game slow start/jitters that always plague us). Hopefully we'll have our whole roster playing together by Regionals.
