Outdoor Pickup?

I'm looking for some outdoor pickup in the Minneapolis area. Could someone please email me times and places? Wait, there's still 6 plus inches of snow/ice on the ground? It's still barely above freezing and supposed to snow more by the end of the week? Well at least weather.com is looking to upgrade the "Golf Index" from Very Poor to Fair by Sunday. Time to hit the links with my Ice Wedge!

P.S. We are t-minus 17 days until Northwoods Sectionals and 38 days to Regionals. Is Iowa at least considering a temperate climate zone?

Defensive Mentality

From an article interview I read recently:
If something's yours, you need to protect it. You don't want guys coming into your house and taking over, kicking off their shoes and putting their feet on your coffee table. Defense, in my opinion, is more important than offense. If you can get stops when you need to, eventually somebody is going to make a shot. I don't smile when I'm out there competing against you. It's not funny.

This is from Ben Wallace, who definitely isn't a bad defender.

For me, defense is all about attitude and especially confidence. Coming off two down years, I'm healthy again, and my confidence is much higher. That's helped to restore my love for shutting people down. I'm also anxious to play another season with Shaner, Q, Heijmen, et al.

Come on, doesn't playing just offense get boring?

How the mighty have fallen

I don't like to dwell on the past, especially when the past involves losing in the semis.
I'd rather look forward to next year and a new team name: The Best Team to Never Make Finals. I would blame the loss on a lack of people named Matt Berkseth (and if you think Timmy didn't convince Matt to go to an out-of-town interview that particular day to avoid playing us in the finals, I've got a boat to sell you).

We also had the team meeting for SZ 2006 over the weekend. I'm definitely pumped to be able to play outdoors at full speed with two ACL's. However, given my history of jinxing myself, expect a report of me blowing 6 of my 8 remaining ligaments.
